Among few voices who truly understand Bharat’s entrepreneurial pulse, Prof. Anil K. Gupta, Padma Shri, is one of India’s most original thinkers on grassroots innovation and inclusive entrepreneurship. He has spent decades championing the wisdom of rural communities. During his IIM-Ahmedabad days where he taught for over 36 years. he founded the Honey Bee Network in 1988 which has become a global movement that recognizes, protects and scales local ingenuity and rural Start-Ups. He also set-up National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF) with the help of Government of India to support rural Start-Ups and innovation where he held leadership position from its inception in 2000 till 2017. Prof. Gupta founded SRISTI and GIAN as well, to strengthen recognition, respect and rewards for grassroots knowledge systems.
