Shri Ajay Thakur has an enriching experience of more than 30 years in the Capital Market spanning India’s biggest Custodian to India’s biggest and largest Stock Exchange. The key roles have been setting up the first ever SME & Startup Platform in the country, developing equity and derivative market of BSE and setting up the arbitration & conciliation framework of BSE. In his career of 30 years, he has worked in various capacities with organizations viz. Stock Holding Corporation of India, Vadodara Stock Exchange, and BSE. He started his career with Stock Holding Corporation in the year 1994 as Executive. In the year 1995 he joined Vadodara Stock Exchange as Management Executive and was heading Market operation and Clearing House.
He Joined BSE in the year 1996 as Head – Arbitration Department. He has successfully ensured timely resolution of arbitration cases and cleared all the backlogs pending for years. He was instrumental in framing new bye-laws for Arbitration in line with Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. In 2002, he was shifted to the core team of Business Development Department for the growth of the business of BSE, creating regional centers of BSE for smooth interaction with members, Sub-brokers and investors and also conduct awareness program about various products in cash and derivatives. In 2010 he was assigned the responsibility of setting up the SME & Startup Platform of BSE.
